YWCA's Week Without Violence

For over 20 years during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, YWCAs across the country have set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence, during which we raise awareness, elevate survivor voices, talk with policymakers, and unite under a common goal: centering survivors and working together to end gender-based violence.

Blazing Trails for the Future with Dr. Mae Jemison

In 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor and became the first woman of color to travel to space. Since then, Dr. Jemison has spent her life advocating for science education and the involvement of BIPOC women in STEM. She continues to blaze trails for the future through her actions and empowerment of others, and we are honored to have her join us as this year's Luncheon keynote speaker.

What is Juneteenth?
