As one of five regional access points in King County, YWCA RAP provides prevention/diversion and housing navigation as a first response to those experiencing a housing crisis in King County. We work with single adults, coupled adults, youth/young adults, and families experiencing homelessness to connect them to wraparound resources.

Walk-ins are available every Wednesday from 1pm - 4pm.

YWCA RAP provides housing assessments (VI-SPDAT) for placement with a homeless housing resource within King County to be filled through Coordinated Entry For All (CEA). YWCA RAP also offers diversion, an alternative model of housing crisis resolution that involves: rapid housing stability planning and short-term systems navigation to identify options for re-establishing more stable housing. Diversion can include limited, one-time financial assistance to support households with obtaining permanent housing or transportation to more stable housing.

Weekends and evening hour appointments can be scheduled, as needed. Free interpreter services are provided to anyone who requires them.

Eligibility & Enrollment

RAPs serve young adults, families, Veterans, and single adults who are literally homeless according to the Category 1 HUD definition of homelessness, those fleeing/attempting to flee domestic violence according to the Category 4 HUD definition, and single young adults (ages 17.5-24) who are imminently at risk of homelessness within the next 14 days. RAPs also serve individuals and families that are at imminent risk of homelessness according to HUD.

Blazing Trails for the Future with Dr. Mae Jemison

September 6, 2024 Blog Post
In 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor and became the first woman of color to travel to space. Since then, Dr. Jemison has spent her life advocating for science education and the involvement of BIPOC women in STEM. She continues to blaze trails for the future through her actions and empowerment of others, and we are honored to have her join us as this year's Luncheon keynote speaker.
